Types of Acne Scars

An Overview of the Procedure

To begin your fractional laser acne treatment, we will begin by applying a numbing topical cream to your face to ensure your total comfort throughout treatment. You can expect the entire procedure to take anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the extent of your acne scars. During this time, you will feel mild heat on your skin, which is simply the laser working to remove the damaged tissue while heating the underlying collagen to promote new growth. In this way, the laser treats the acne scars on the surface of your skin while stimulating the growth of new volume underneath.
