Morpheus8 is an FDA-approved, minimally-invasive device designed to tighten and strengthen the skin with innovative RF technology. Morpheus8 takes the clinically proven effects of microneedling to the next level by combining microneedling with RF energy. During traditional microneedling, a handpiece equipped with ultra-fine needles is passed over the skin. This treatment makes “micro-injuries” in the skin. This triggers the body’s healing response, which is the production of collagen and elastin. The body uses collagen and elastin to provide skin structure, youthful volume, and more beautiful, radiant skin.

With Morpheus8, RF energy is also emitted from the microneedling device. The radiofrequency energy has a positive dual effect: RF heats the underlying tissues to achieve a more dramatic boost of collagen, and it also liquefies the fat cells in the treatment area to sculpt the features.

Who is a candidate for Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a safe, effective treatment for almost anyone who has skin concerns such as dullness or early skin laxity, or who would like to sculpt areas with small fat pockets. Ideal candidates for Morpheus8 should meet the following qualifications:

• Have mild to moderate (not severe) skin laxity
• Are in good health
• Are not pregnant or nursing
• Do not have an active skin infection or rash in the treatment area
• Are not taking Accutane currently

What to expect during a Morpheus8 treatment

While Morpheus8 is not generally considered a painful treatment, we typically begin a Morpheus8 treatment with an anesthetic cream or local anesthesia. Once this takes effect, and we are certain you’ll be comfortable throughout the treatment process, we will begin the Morpheus8 procedure. Expect your treatment time to take about one hour.

We will pass the Morpheus8 handpiece over the skin in the targeted treatment areas. The device is equipped with ultra-fine needles that create tiny injuries in the skin to trigger collagen production. At the same time as the needles are passed over your skin, RF energy is emitted from the device. The RF energy heats the underlying tissues, further stimulating collagen production and liquefying small, unwanted fat pockets.

We will follow your microneedling treatment with active topical ingredients applied to your skin. These active ingredients are more deeply absorbed into the skin after a Morpheus8 treatment, which maximizes their benefits.

What does a Morpheus8 treatment feel like?

The treatment is not usually described as painful. We will apply a numbing cream or inject local anesthesia to ensure the treatment is as comfortable as it can be.

You will feel a slight prickling sensation as the microneedling takes place. This is followed by a feeling of warmth as the RF energy is emitted into your tissues.

Is there a recovery period after Morpheus8?

There is no downtime after Morpheus8 treatments, but there will be a short recovery period. It’s important to stay out of the sun while your skin is healing and use sunscreen daily.

Expect some redness for about a week. Most patients also have some micro-lesions. These will fade and disappear in several days. However, most patients are able to return to their usual routine or work schedule within about a day of their treatment. One day after your treatment, you will be able to apply makeup.

When will I see results after a Morpheus8 treatment?

Your initial results will be apparent within about a week of your treatment. Your final results will take a period of weeks, and even months, because your body is following the natural process of flushing out liquefied fat tissues and rebuilding the skin structure from within.

You will see firmer, brighter, and more youthful-looking skin after about three or four weeks. Further improvements will continue over a period of months, leaving the treatment area more sculpted and radiant.

Results are long-lasting, continuing for two to four years, depending on your age, skincare routine, and general lifestyle.

How many Morpheus8 treatments should I have?

Every patient is different, and we take a personalized approach to their recommended treatments. However, as a general rule of thumb, you can think with about 2-3 sessions of Morpheus8. These are performed about once a month or six weeks apart to achieve the maximum benefits.
