How does Profound RF work?

Profound RF is used to stimulate your body to tighten skin, while simultaneously creating natural volume and restoring fullness. Through use of a specially-designed hand-held device, Profound RF’s applicator has a series of radio frequency energy needles which deliver powerful RF energy deep into the layers of the skin.

The RF energy heats the layers of the skin to a specific temperature to trigger skin regeneration from within. Your body’s own natural processes are activated to produce greater amounts of hyaluronic acid and collagen, giving the area treated a more supple, youthful appearance. At the same time, the elastin and collagen fibers in your skin is tightened, reinforcing its overall structure and contours.

What can I expect during Profound RF?

Your Profound RF treatment at TrueCare Cosmetic Surgery & Med Spa™ begins with the application of a local anesthetic so you rest comfortably during your procedure. Then, the Profound RF’s hand-held device will be passed over the surface of the aging area of your skin, while energy needles penetrate the skin, heating it to a temperature of 149 degrees. This temperature begins a process known as neocollagenesis to build collagen and elastin to a level more consistent with younger skin. The process generally takes 45 minutes to complete.

What can I expect following treatment with Profound RF?

Since our Inland Empire Profound RF is minimally invasive, there is only minimal downtime required following your procedure. You may experience redness, tenderness, and swelling for up to one week following treatment with Profound RF. As the swelling subsides, you may notice tiny pin-sized marks on the surface of the skin where the energy needles penetrated the skin. This is temporary and will dissipate over the coming days. Light peeling as your skin is expected as your skin begins to renew and revitalize which lasts only a few days.

Am I a candidate for Profound RF?

The ideal candidate for Profound RF is experiencing skin laxity especially in the cheeks or jowls, deep wrinkles around the mouth and cheeks, and loss of volume in the mid or lower face. Profound RF is suitable for all skin tones and types and does not create irregular pigmentation in darker skin tones. Women who are pregnant are not suitable candidates for Profound RF. Additionally, men and women who have a history of problems with skin healing or those with pacemakers or defibrillators should not have treatment with Profound RF.

Which areas can be treated with Profound RF?

The lifting benefits of Profound RF are beneficial for treating many areas of the face and body which are experiencing severe skin laxity. While Profound RF is most typically used to treat areas of the face, particularly the mid and lower face where sagging skin is most noticeable, it is also very effective in treating other areas, including:

When will I see results from Profound RF?
